The World Is Breathing: an original song (5:00), made after Graham said Télépopmusik's "Breathe" feels "like God is breathing". It runs on two clocks at once. Under everything there are fast running 16th notes at 116 bpm, a rapidly pulsing tone and a rush of air: the wind in your face. Over them float the slow layers: long swelling chords, a deep sub, a close and breathy voice ("Up where the air is thin / I let the whole sky in… Rise and fall / the world is breathing under us all"), and a breath of about 10 seconds that is slightly irregular, like a person's. That breath moves the whole room. On each inhale the sound opens, widens, blooms into reverb and warps in pitch like tape. On each exhale it closes, narrows and goes dry. There is no drum kit. Nothing is sampled or quoted from "Breathe". Made 2026-10-21: ACE-Step 1.5 XL turbo (open weights, run locally on the 3090) for the song. Then a breath-driven "room breathing" chain written in Python (filter, stereo width, reverb bloom and collapse, tape warp, saturation, synthesized inhale/exhale), mastered to -14 LUFS. Claude chose it from 3 contrasting candidates and 7 renders. The video shows a landscape at night seen from far above; it breathes with the same breath envelope, while wind streaks rush past.
