The Wrong-Note March — a scherzo for violin and viola (G major, 4/4, quarter = 112; trio in C major at 92; about four and a half minutes). Written 2026-10-14 for Graham (viola) and a beginner violin friend, for Classical Jams Austin. A cheeky march in the Haydn / Peter-and-the-Wolf spirit: the violin's tune on tiptoe over the viola's plucked oom-pah; call and answer, with the viola mocking the tune grumpy and low, then squeaky and high; the viola takes the tune, plays a wrong note (A-flat for A) with a straight face and is corrected by the violin's plucked open A; it wanders into E-flat and the violin's plucked D's call it home; a gentle singing trio; the march loud and proud; and both players pluck the final G chord. The violin stays in first position on the D and A strings. Draft v1 — verdict pending.
