Fiddle Duet 1

https://videos.grahampaasch.com/fiddle-duet-1

Barton Springs Hoedown — a fiddle tune for violin and viola (D major, 4/4, quarter = 116, about four and three-quarter minutes). Original, written 2026-10-14 for Graham (viola) and a beginner violin friend, for Classical Jams Austin. An old-time hoedown in AABB form, four times through: the violin plays a simple, catchy two-strain fiddle tune in first position (the D-major finger pattern, eighths always paired on one string) and, while the viola has the tune, two open-string "band" patterns; the viola kicks it off with the potatoes, then chops on two and four, shuffles on moving double-stop drones, takes the tune low and warm, walks the bass, shows off with a bariolage variation, plays twin-fiddle harmony, drives a 3-3-2 shuffle in the last time through, and closes on a four-string D chord. Draft v1 — verdict pending.
